ELECTION 2008: The big fights


 


As is the custom in all general elections, there will always be the slew of seats that strikes a bigger resonance in both the political and voter perception, the so-called hot seats. These are big fights that pit Goliaths against Goliaths or the idea that winning, or losing, a certain seat spells doom for candidate and party.


 

 

That being the case, every resource - manpower, political support, presence in the form of flags, posters and banners, charm offensive, even funding and amenities - are thrown in the mix to ensure that every advantage, no matter how miniscule, are secured to woo the voter.
